BIG PRINT BLOCK PARTY
ARTIST VENDOR APPLICATION
Cape Fear Press has organized fourteen artists to print their 4'x8' woodcuts with a steamroller at the BIG PRINT BLOCK PARTY and wants to extend an invitation to area artists and crafters to show and sell their works alongside this landmark event. As of last year, this is the first event of its kind in the Southeast. We also have a very talented artist from Florida, Julia Morrisroe is bringing 2 4x8 foot blocks to print as an 8x8 foot dyptich so this will be a good chance to meet and watch her and the other artists at work. This event will be promoted and advertised locally as well as regionally. This application is for vendor space only.

May 22, 2010 Cape Fear Blvd, East block next to the Boardwalk in Carolina Beach
Rain date: May 23 Event is rain or shine even with a rain date and no refunds can be given. If we can't print all of Saturday due to weather and continue printing on Sunday, you will be welcome to come back Sunday and set up your booth.
Artists must be available for both dates.
Vendor spaces are available for fine artists and master crafters
All art displayed must be created by the artist applying. No work from commercial molds, kits or manufactured work is allowed including printed T-shirts. Due to the current economic state, reproductions will be allowed but must not exceed 10% of your overall display, all reproductions must be clearly marked as "Reproduction". One of the missions of this event is to educate people on what an original print is, inkjet facsimiles of other works are not original prints or fine art so the buyer deserves to know what they are buying. Artists must attend their own booth unless they are participating in the steamroller printing. Sharing of booths is not permitted. Only participating printers may share booths so they can share in printing duties. All booths will be alongside Cape Fear Blvd or on the grass lot on the corner of Cape fear and Canal Drive on the same block. Earlier applications will be given choice locations with proximity to the printing action.
Open Air Space 12x12' booth spaces, only $50, tent and table must be supplied by artist. Late registration after May 8 is $100 total.
All open air booths will be alongside Cape Fear Blvd and facing the Steamroller Printing action which will be all along the middle of the street.
Art Under the Big Top In an effort to better serve the needs of local fine artists, Cape Fear Press is raising a big tent for multiple artists on the north side of Cape Fear Blvd. The amount of reservations will determine tent size. This will provide an 8'x10' wide covered space per artist. The price for this space will be $110. We will accept registration for the Big Top until May8. There is no late registration for the Big-Top. See Detail
Deadlines We will be accepting entries up for open air and Art under the Big-Top until May 8 MIDNIGHT. Late registration for open air spaces will be $100, registration for these spots will be closed at May 20 MIDNIGHT. Earlier applications will be given choice locations with proximity to the printing action.

All fees collected from artists are going to fund this event which is FREE to the public and no profit is anticipated. The mission of the Big Print Block Party is purely communal, cultural and educational. This unique event will hopefully benefit the area artists as well as the community of Carolina Beach, my hometown for the last 17 years.
Confirmation
Artists will be notified the week before the event about where to sign in on the morning of the event.
Setup & Breakdown
Artists may set up between 7 and 9 am. Everyone must be set up no later that 9 am. Artists must remain set up until 4 pm.
